According to the Law of Succession Act in Kenya, a written will can only be valid if testator (the person writing the will is) over 18 years, the written will has been signed, and there are 2 independent witnesses (not including the beneficiary), etc.

So long as you follow the Law of Succession Act in drafting your will, it is not a must that you require a lawyer.

Oral wills are only valid if there were made within 3 months before the death of the testator

The process of confirming the authenticity of a will is called probate. This process is done by a court of law.
