The strength of any economy is linked to its education system. A good education system is one that educates students on how to innovate not on how to pass exams. An economy that encourages students to excel in examinations but does not motivate them to innovate will not be successful in this 21st century (digital era). Back to my topic of discussion.
What are you planning to do or what did you do for your final year university project? Whatever it was, but there are chances that you had been concentrating on copy pasting an already existing idea or developing an idea which was not practical. Meet this final year engineering student Segun Oyeyiola from Obafemi Awolowo University who spent his time developing a technique which would make a Volks Wagen run using wind energy and solar energy simultaneously. Global warming is what pushed Segun Oyeyiola to come up with this idea as he wanted to reduce air pollution that is caused by carbon dioxised emissions from burning fuels.
The main challenge facing Oyeyiola as he plans to improve his idea is lack of motivations. Through an interview Oyeyiola said, many people who he has met have told him that his idea will die soon. Despite what critics tell Oyeyiola, I would say congratulation to him as I have never heard of vehicles powered by wind energy.
