FROM PRESS RELEASE;
Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) is a body corporate established under the KMTC Act, Cap 261 to provide medical training for the public health sector and beyond. The Act mandates KMTC to, among others, select students for admission in all its campuses countrywide.
On the basis of the Act, KMTC advertised for training vacancies in all its 42 campuses countrywide and undertook selection of students accordingly.
A conflict arose after Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS) also made a similar advertisement on placement of students to KMTC. This conflict has now been resolved and KMTC mandate proceeds as stipulated by the Act.
In view of the above, the Chairman, KMTC Board of Directors and the CEO KMTC wish to inform students, parents, guardians, all stakeholders and the general public as follows:
1. All students currently with admission letters from KMTC are advised to report to the respective campuses on Wednesday 21st October, 2015 at 8.00am with all requirements as indicated in their admission letters. Those who will not have reported by October 28, 2015 will be deemed to have forfeited their chances.
2. KMTC Academic Board has embarked on a process of admitting students who applied through KUCCPS and the affected students will be notified accordingly.
We thank all the students, parents, guardians, all stakeholders and the general public for their patience.
Prof. Philip Kaloki
Chairperson, KMTC Board of Directors
