This is not possible if you have already been placed by KUCCPS. Therefore, the only option you have is self-sponsored program.
To change your HELB account category from self-sponsored to government-sponsored, send a copy of your national ID or KCSE result slip or certificate to email: contactcentre@helb.co.ke. The subject of your email should be, "Change from self-sponsored to government-sponsored."

To change your HELB loan institution details from self-sponsored to Government sponsored, visit Huduma Centre HELB desk with your national ID to have your details updated. If you want to do the changes online then send HELB a twitter with your national ID number asking them to update your institution details to Government sponsored. Any student who was placed by KUCCPS is eligible for government capitation. The only requirement is that you have to apply. If you did not apply, then you will not get government capitation. It is not like in the past, where all students placed by KUCCPS were eligible for government capitation.
