Hi,

I've been investing just in Kenyan stock market for a few years and my broker told me that I'll need to apply for a Kenya KRA PIN now.

Note I am a foreign individual (not a company) and not a Kenyan resident. How do I register a KRA PIN? I checked the KRA website that it seems you need to be a non-resident Kenyan national or company? And it mentions tax agents. I couldn't find a category matching my situation and it's confusing.

Could you please help?

Thanks!

A non-Kenyan Non Resident can apply for KRA Pin via itax portal. The following documents are required to complete the application.

  • Scanned copy of passport certified by Notary public oaths from country of origin
  • Letter of introduction by a Kenyan Agent and agent's PIN number
  • Documentary proof of investment
  • Letter from Kenya Investment Authority

You need to ask your broker to link you to any ideal Tax Agent.
