Christians consider the last supper important in their faith because;

  • It was inaugurated by Jesus/In obedience to Jesus Command.
  • It celebrated the memory of death and resurrection of Jesus
  • It is a gift from God
  • It is a sign of unity of the church/believers
  • It is a sign of new covenant
  • It is an outward sign of inner faith
  • Its an opportunity for believers to give thanks/repent
  • It gives hope of the second coming of Christ
