NHIF pays a fee to each outpatient facility in advance according to the number of people that have selected the facility.

This is what is called Outpatient Capitation. The hospital you select will still be paid on a quarterly basis whether you are treated there or not.

NHIF pays about Kenya Shillings 1500 to the outpatient facility per card.
