Aluminium is used for making electric cables while magnesium is not because;

  • Aluminium has 3 delocalised electrons making it a better conductor than magnesium with only 2 delocalized electrons.
  • Aluminium is resistant to corrosion
  • Aluminium has less cost than magnesium
