How do I reverse Equity Bank money sent to wrong Mpesa?

I have sent money from my Equity Bank account number to wrong Mpesa Number. How do i reverse.

If you have sent money from your Equity Bank account to the wrong Mpesa Number and you need reversal then you can contact Equity Bank through 0763026000 and select the reversal option. One of Equity Customer Care agents will pick your call and ask for your account number and phone number where the transaction was made to.

After making a reversal, it will take 24 to 48 hours for the money to reflect in your Equity Bank account.

Don't waste your time calling Safaricom because they will not help you.

NOTE: Make sure that you have confirmed whether the money has been withdrawn or not. If it has been withdrawn, then there is little that Equity Bank can do to help you.

You have lost your money. Equity can only reverse money that has not been withdrawn.

Once you send money from Equity App to Mpesa, there is  a message that you will receive from Equity bank with transaction details. You will get the phone number there.

I sent money from my Equity bank to a wrong Mpesa number. I called equity immediately and informed them and they promised me that my money will be reversed in two hours time. Now it's six days and my money has not been returned despite being able to get hold of the person I sent the money to . He tried to send back the money to me since it was still reflecting but he was getting the message that he doesn't have enough money in his Mpesa, meaning that the money had already been frozen or returned to equity. Should I continue waiting and for how long?

@Mwangi Mwirore, the money cannot be reversed in 6 hours. It takes 24 to 48 hrs unless Equity Bank reversal services have improved.

If you are sure  you called Equity Bank using the contacts provided above and they told you that they have been successful in reversing the money, then can call them for a follow up.

Visited the bank, told would get partia reversal without any explanation and finally told reversal has been declined....why cant the equity bank follow the money untill its reversed instead of asking customers to go to the police station for investigations. Equity bank will pick your call, promise to reverse and to communicate aftwr 2hrs but finally tell  you that the money has been withdrawn. That you should report to the police.
