  • Industrialization this is through transport of raw materials from source areas to the industries/ finished products to the market
  • Generation of revenue - People engage in transport and communication activities as a source of income.
  • Development of Urban centres/urbanization - towns develop along major highway and road junctions
  • Creation of employment opportunities thus improving their living standards
  • Promotion of tourism - assists in transportation of tourist to various tourist attraction centres.
  • Expansion of trading/opening new trading markets thus encouraging mass production of goods and more extensive trade.
