Difference between thermionic emission and photoelectric effect is;

  • Thermionic emission is dislodging of electrons from a metal surface when heated with sufficient energy while photoelectric emission is the dislodging of electrons from a metal surface when irradiated with radiation of sufficient wavelength and energy.
