Renewing driving license under the new license classification categories

I have a valid driving license from the earlier driving license classification. The current validity has been running for three years and is due for replacement in September 2021. However, the classification has now changed. What am I required to do to renew it in the new driving classification categories?

Just apply for a SMART driving License online via TIMS Portal. Don’t worry even if it picks the wrong class.

When you go for biometrics taking, carry you old DL and ask them to update your class in the system with the appropriate one.

They will amend and place you in a similar class of the new categories.
