Kenya is trying to overcome energy crisis by;

  • The government encouraging the use of alternative source of energy e.g biomas, sun and wind to reduce overreliance on petroleum.
  • The citizens being encouraged to use energy saving technology e.g energy saving jikos in order to conserve energy.
  • Development of wood fuel programmes through afforestation, re-afforestation and planting of fast maturing trees.
  • Improving public transport to encourage more people to use it (Reduce vehicles on the road) hence reduced consumption of petroleum
  • Control the importation of vehicles with high engine capacity (high tax on high capacity luxury cars)
  • Proper planning of the road network to reduce traffics jams.
