I did a Bachelor of Arts degree course and now I want to do a Post graduate diploma in Education (PGDE). However, I am being told that some degrees are banned by TSC.

TSC banned degree courses that we have listed below from teaching. What this means is that even if you do a Post graduate diploma in Education (PGDE), you cannot be registered as a TSC teacher.

List of Degrees banned by TSC

  • Actuarial Science
  • All Engineering courses
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Anthropology
  • Banking and Finance
  • Banking and finance
  • Biochemistry
  • Biotechnology and Agriculture
  • Business Management/Administration
  • Criminology
  • Environmental Science
  • Farm Machinery
  • Fisheries
  • Foods, Nutrition and Dietics
  • Forestry
  • Genomics
  • Horticulture
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Industrial Chemistry
  • Journalism
  • Kiswahili and Communication
  • Kiswahili and communication
  • Meteorology
  • Microbiology
  • Natural Resources
  • Sociology
  • Technology and Applied Biology
  • Theology/Divinity

NOTE: If you did any other degree course other than Bachelor of Education, make sure you have visited any TSC quality assurance office and get clearance before doing PGDE.
