Yes, your application will still be accepted even if your account is inactive. What is needed are your bank account details. But why would you want to provide an inactive bank account? Just visit your bank's nearest branch with your national ID and activate your account or create a new one. Creating a new account is free these days. You will only be required to pay less than Ksh. 500 if you need a debit card.
The money is returned to HELB accounts and can be wired back once the account is re-activated.
To change bank account details, download the change request form and fill it with the required details. Then send it to HELB with your ID Card to email address contactcentre@helb.co.ke.
If you have already submitted your form then visit Huduma Center (HELB Desk) with a copy of your ATM Card and National ID to have your bank account details submitted.
