It was necessary to translate the bible into many languages because;

  • The original languages (Hebrew & Greek) were not easily understood by many.
  • There was need to take the gospel to the Gentiles
  • In order to spread christianity
  • Many people in the world are/were using English as a medium of communication.
  • Missionary work had expanded to Asia and Africa where original languages were not understood.
