If you are getting error 06 when loading your tokens into your Kenya Power meter then it means open terminal cover or a bypass error and needs to be unlocked.Solution 1: Press 868 in your meter (CIU) and then click enter, the error should clear.Solution 2: If the error is not cleared through solution 1 above, contact Kenya Power and book a visit to their office.
By June 17, 2023, if you buy Kenya Power tokens worth ksh. 500, you would get about 17 to 25 unitsNOTE that tokens vary depending on your usage. If you consume a lot power then you will get less units. For instance, if you use more than 100 units per month for 3 consecutive months then your rates will be lowered (you will receive fewer units as you are considered a high-power user).UPDATE: KPLC has revised its power cost. With ksh. 500, you will now get between 17 to 25 units (we have updated this answer to reflect the changes).
To change your KCPL meter names, you need to visit your area KPLC offices with your ID, KRA pin and land title deed to have your names corrected. If you acquired the meter number from a broker, then you have to contact him for name changes
To stop the beep sound on the Kenya power meter when tokens are depleted, press 00 then enter # to reset the meter so that it can disable the beep sounds when you tokens are exhausted.
