It takes two weeks to replace a lost national ID. You can replace your national ID by going to Huduma Centre GPO with a police abstract and Ksh. 100. You will be issued with a waiting card as you wait to collect your National ID. You must book an appointment online before going for any service in Huduma Centre. Ksh. 100 is for the police abstract which can obtained at Huduma Centre.
Your ID number will not change if you replace your ID. What will change is your serial number. In most cases serial number is not important. However, there are rare cases like registering for NTSA TIMS portal where the serial number matters.
