The bank was founded in 1965 and first registered under the Co-operative Societies Act. Its head office is in Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya.

 

It offers both individual and corporate services.

It runs three subsidiaries: Kingdom Securities ltd, Co-op consultancy & Insurance Agency ltd and Co-op Trust Investment services.

It provides banking services such as banking, loans, investment etc.

The bank has a big customer base in the country, which increases daily. It has many branches all over Kenya in order to take services closer to its clients. Both in towns and in the interior, it has ‘Co-op kwa Jirani’ agents who serve their clients.

 

It’s a bank which works hard to offer customers quality service. It was in fact named the best bank of Kenya by the Financial Times of London in the Banker Magazine Awards, 2010.

In 2013, the bank was recognized for its efforts to promote ‘Green Financing’ among clients and hence named the Most Green Bank in Kenya at the 2013 energy management awards.
