iPhone 8 OS and Processors

Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus run on iOS 11, upgradable to iOS 11.1. They are powered by an Hexa-core (2x Monsoon + 4x Mistral) processor based on the Apple A11 Bionic chipset.

iPhone 8 Memory and Storage

The iPhone 8 comes with 2GB of RAM while the iPhone 8 Plus has 3GB of RAM. Both devices come in variants of 64GB or 256 GB of internal storage. Memory is not expandable as the phones lack a microSD slot.

The iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7” screen with a resolution of 750×1334 pixels, 326ppi density. The iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5” inch screen with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, 401ppi density.

The secondary dual camera is 12MP with face detection, autofocus, OIS, and quad-LED (dual-tone) flash. It is capable of recording 2160p videos at 24/30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60/120/240fps.

Communication to other devices is possible via Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, hotspot. Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE. GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS. NFC (Apple Pay only). USB 2.0, proprietary reversible connector. Network connectivity is via GSM, HSPA, or LTE.

iPhone 8 Battery

The iPhone 8 is powered by a battery with a paltry 1821mAh capacity. The battery can support 14 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 40 hours of music playback.

The iPhone 8 Plus is powered by a 2691mAh battery capable of supporting up to 21 hours of talk time on 3G and to 60 hours of music playback.
